PAB APPLAUDS CREATION OF FIRST CONGRESSIONAL BROADCASTERS CAUCUS

Co-chaired by PA Rep. Brendan Boyle, the caucus will focus on educating members of congress on issues relevant to broadcast TV and radio stations across the country

PHILADELPHIA – The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters (PAB), a professional organization representing nearly 300 broadcast television and radio stations across the commonwealth, today applauded the creation of the first Congressional Broadcasters Caucus. The Caucus will be a resource to educate members of Congress about broadcast-related issues and the importance of local radio and television stations to tens of millions of Americans. The main intent for the Caucus will be to solve important issues for the broadcasting community, especially local-market stations.

“We would like to congratulate Congressman Boyle and pledge our support of his efforts to support broadcasters,” said Joe Conti, President of the PAB. “Broadcast television and radio stations are the lifeblood of the communities we serve. This new caucus will ensure the voices of our member stations are heard in the halls of power in Washington, DC.”

“I am proud to continue working with the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters as the co-Chair of the newly formed Congressional Broadcasters Caucus,” said Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA). “Pennsylvania has a long and proud tradition of the broadcasting industry playing vital roles in communities across the Keystone State. From hazardous weather updates to the latest news on health issues, our Pennsylvania broadcast community uses the airwaves to keep our state informed, safe and moving forward economically.”
