Award Honorees:

 

The Gold Medal is the PAB’s highest award of distinction. The recipient must be a native Pennsylvanian, been raised in Pennsylvania, and recognized through accomplishments in the arts, communication, education, entertainment, business, public service, science, sports, or philanthropy. 

  • Edgar Snyder has been a practicing attorney for over 40 years, becoming a household name throughout Western Pennsylvania through his television advertisements for free legal consultations. His passion has been helping injury victims and people with disabilities. Snyder has been honored for his achievements in law, earning him various titles and recognitions within the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers List, Penn State Alumni Association, University of Pittsburgh, and the American Advertising Federation of Pittsburgh’s Hall of Fame. Aside from his unwavering dedication to law, Attorney Snyder and his firm established the Edgar Snyder & Associates Foundation, which partners with local organizations to help keep Western and Central Pennsylvania communities safe and supported. From his contributions, Snyder has received PNC’s Community Builders Award and the Emanuel Spector Memorial Award, which recognizes exemplary service to the community.   

Radio Hall of Fame

  • Ray Goss is the host of Duquesne University’s men’s basketball games on WJAS, KDKA, KQV, WWSW, WDUQ-FM, and WPGB-FM. Gosss extensive history extends to having co-hosted “The First ABA Championship,” alongside Coach Vince Cazetta, IUP football highlights, Pittsburgh Piranhas, softball competitions, and much more. In 2008, Goss authored a book called “Misadventures in Broadcasting,” detailing his unusual and incredible experiences throughout his journey in broadcasting. In his 60+ years of sports play-by-play, Goss has broadcasted over 3,000 sports events.  

Television Hall of Fame

  • Bill Hillgrove has been the play-by-play voice of the University of Pittsburgh Panthers football team for 49 years and the voice of Pitt basketball for 54 years. Hillgrove previously hosted a jazz show on the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel and WZUM 101.1FM, and is a member of the Board of Directors for Trafford Theatre Company, the Primary Health Network foundation, and Santa’s Kids. In his 29 years of filling the role as Steelers play-by-play man, he has broadcast four Super Bowls.  

Janet & Lew Klein “Making A Difference” Award  The Miracle League of Southwestern PA

  • The Janet & Lew Klein “Making a Difference” Award is given annually to either a person or an organization that has truly helped “Make a Difference” in the world.This year’s recipient is The Miracle League of Southwestern PA, an organization that aims to provide individuals with special needs the ability to play baseball in a league-based environment. Both children and adults can play baseball, have fun, and develop socialization skills on a specially designed field in Cranberry Township.
