Bold Gold Raises Record Amount During 19th Michael G. Stanton ‘Shower For Charity’!
Honesdale, Pennsylvania – December 12th
At 10 am on December 12th, standing along Main Street in downtown Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Bold Gold General Manager, Michael G. Stanton, once again stepped into the claw tub as he had done so many times before over the years. This time was a little different, as he was donning a Bold Gold logoed mask along with his usual Santa boxer shorts. However, the cause was the same. His goal: remain in the shower, outside in the cold, until he raised $20,000 for the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau (WCCCB).
As station listeners had done in every previous year, they came to Michael’s aid, driving by and donating to help him reach his goal. And, despite the pandemic, Michael G and the Bold Gold Team raised a record amount of money for the WCCB. It took less than two hours in the shower to exceed the $20,000 goal… and once all the pledges and donations came in, Michael G had raised over $30,000! This was a record not only in total amount raised, but also in how quickly the donations were made.
Of the outpouring of support, Michael G. said, “The generosity of this community is amazing! Businesses during this pandemic, as well as area residents and individuals from out of state driving by, gave from the heart to help the children in the area have a very Merry Christmas. It is very humbling to see this overwhelming support.”
