Position Overview

WEEU is seeking an experienced and imaginative Creative Director / Production Manager to lead our station’s creative sound and imaging, oversee commercial production, and help shape the on-air identity of one of Pennsylvania’s most iconic radio stations. This role combines hands-on production work with creative leadership—guiding the station’s sound design, writing and producing commercials, promos, imaging, and special features that engage and grow our audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Production: Write, voice, and produce high-quality commercials, promos, sponsorship spots, and imaging elements for WEEU and its affiliated programming.
  • Brand Development: Maintain a consistent, distinctive station sound aligned with WEEU’s brand identity and audience demographics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, promotions, and programming teams to develop creative concepts that drive results for advertisers and listeners.
  • Commercial Workflow Management: Coordinate incoming production orders, assign tasks, and ensure deadlines are met with accuracy and creativity.
  • Manage dubbing of all submitted agency & barter commercials into playout system.
  • Perform and voice commercials
  • Voice Talent & Audio Editing: Record and direct voice talent, and handle all aspects of editing, mixing, and mastering for broadcast-ready audio.
  • Campaign Development: Contribute ideas for marketing and promotional campaigns across on-air, digital, and social platforms.
  • Quality Control: Maintain production standards, manage sound libraries, and ensure compliance with FCC and internal guidelines.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support part-time producers or interns, fostering a creative and collaborative environment in the production department.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of radio production or creative services experience (commercial, imaging, or broadcast creative).
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Audition (or equivalent DAW), production libraries, and broadcast automation systems (BE AudioVault experience a plus).
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
  • A deep understanding of radio branding, pacing, and emotional impact.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience directing talent, collaborating with clients, and maintaining brand consistency.
  • Familiarity with digital audio formats, streaming, and podcast production is preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter who can take initiative, work independently, and bring creative ideas to life from concept to completion.
