The bill that would require automakers to keep AM radio in vehicle dashboards is heading to the full House after the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted 45 to 2 on Wednesday (Sept. 18) to advance the proposed AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act (H.R. 8449) for a vote.
If passed by the full House, the proposed AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act will require the Secretary of Transportation to issue a rule requiring access to AM broadcast stations in motor vehicles. If they don’t, carmakers could be fined.
